Main Description
The second most popular stream is commerce. This stream can be preferred by those students who are good with numbers, good at analyzing and dealing with large chunks of data. The field of Commerce after 10th has essential commerce subjects like Accountancy, Business studies, and Economics. The students have an option to choose Commerce with Maths or Commerce without Maths. If the candidate chooses Commerce without Mathematics, he/she can choose from elective subjects like Information Practices, Psychology, Language Studies, Physical Education, Home Science, to name a few. Best for the students who are interested in banking, financing, accounting sectors and wanted to be an entrepreneur. Deals with courses on trade and business. Commerce is soon becoming a new way of modern life and setting a new direction for students to lead their life in the best possible way. The most essential skills required to commerce students are critical thinking, analysis skills and able to contribute positively to teamwork. This stream requires good time management and knowledge about current affairs. Apart from the degree courses, the candidate can pursue a number of professional courses as well. The candidates will also have options to choose from courses and career options in Arts, Law, Humanities and related fields.
Students can choose commerce stream in different boards. There are four main education boards available

- The three major subjects taught in commerce stream are economics, accountancy and business law or business study. The subjects offered by most commerce colleges include business economics, business law, accountancy, auditing, income tax, marketing, etc. Just like the above two, even in commerce stream, the student has to select 6 subjects including one compulsory language.
- Students have to choose six subjects among which English is a compulsory language subject and other subjects are optional.
- The Core subject’s combination in this stream will be Business Studies, Economics, Accountancy, Mathematics, Business Law and Computers.
