One of the most popular and most attractive stream for 10+2 education is science. This stream offers many well- paid career options. Advantage of selecting this stream is that, the student is allowed to select commerce or arts after pursuing science in 10+2, if he is not interested in the same stream. When you are in to the science stream, you need to understand concepts. It requires hard work, organized studying and capability of getting high score. Analytical thinking and grasping power, memorization are the skills which helps students to score more in this stream. It involves theoretical aspects and practical training in laboratories. The student should select the subjects that can lead them towards their prospective career. The subjects also help to understand the effects of natural and artificial processes on the world. Thus, the students who opt for the Science stream have a wide range of career opportunities. Bioinformatics, Dental Science, Space exploration, Computer Science, Metallurgy, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Mechanical Engineering, Forensic Science, are some of the many career paths you can choose after studying Science stream subjects.

One can opt science stream in different boards. There are four main education boards available

 

  •  CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education)
  •  ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education)
  •  IB (International Baccalaureate)
  •  State Boards

 

Specializations

  •  Course duration – 2 Years
  •  Varies from one State/ Educational board to another
  •  Student should take at least six subjects including one compulsory language, while the other language subject is left for choice and an optional subjects such as Computer Science, Electronics or combination of group A & B (i.e., pure science-PCMB)
  •  There are two main groups within it, where one can choose main subjects
  •  Group A- Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB)
  •  Group B- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM)
